Sunflowers are traditionally yellow and there have been some beautiful sunflowers in our local markets lately. The color is so vibrant. My card today is a departure from the traditional color and I love how it turned out.
I started with a piece of Old Olive card stock and cut it to 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4′. The DSP layer is from Merry Little Christmas and cut to 4″ x 5 1/4″. The image pieces are Old Olive cut 3″ x 3″, with the Whisper White cut 2 7/8″ x 2 7/8″.
I stamped the flower using Sweet Sugarplum, Fresh Fig and Soft Suede for the centre, and the leaves using Old Olive classic ink. The sentiment is Fresh Fig.
I wrapped three three strips of 1/8″ Sheer Fresh Fig ribbon wrapped over the DSP and secured at the back with adhesive. I then popped up the image piece with dimensionals over the front of the card.

Happy World Card Making Day to all crafters!
Here’s a card that we recently made at one of my Christmas card classes.
It started out with Dazzling Diamonds glimmer paper but ended up with the Silver glimmer paper as the contrast with the white is more defined and after the image was stamped with Versamark and embossed with Silver embossing powder, it made “co-ordinated” much better with the Silver glimmer paper.
Enjoy your World Card Making Day events! Thanks for stopping by and happy stamping!
Spooky Cat is a delightful stamp set in the Holiday Catalogue with a matching cat punch in the bundle. I couldn’t resist this bundle and absolutely love the punch.
There is also a matching designer series paper called Spooky Night with many cute images for Hallowe’en.
The card base is Cajun Craze with a Basic Black mat and a layer of the DSP. I also cut a strip of the DSP and used across the centre of the card.
I punched the cat out of another piece of the DSP and popped it onto a piece of Cajun Craze that had been embossed with a retired polka dot embossing folder. This was adhered to a Whisper White circle and then onto a Basic Black circle. The Cajun Craze and Whisper White circles were cut out with the Layering Circles Framelits and the Basic Black circle was cut out with the Stitched Shape Framelits. I finished it off with a rhinestone collar for the kitty.

Today’s card is a sparkly Z Fold Santa’s Sleigh card, another from my White Christmas card class.
I had a lot of fun putting it together but cutting for a class was quite a different matter – lol. Glitter all over the desk after cutting the reindeer, trees and sleigh. I love the Year of Cheer Specialty DSP and incorporated the sheet with the snowflakes onto the card. There are so many other beautiful sheets in this Designer Series Paper package that I’m looking forward to using.
I cut some Silver Foil snowflakes using the snowflake thinlit from the Seasonal Layers Thinlits. I love working with the foil paper as they cut like butter and they added a little extra punch to the card.
Z Fold cards are very easy to make and they so impressive! Cut the card stock 4 1/4″ x 11″ and score at 2 3/4″ and 5 1/2″. Cut the band 1 1/2″ x 11″ and also score at 2 3/4″ and 5 1/2″. The base card has the long side face up. Just reverse the band so that the long side is at the back of the card.
The rest of the layers are cut:
- 5 1/4″ x 4″, 2 1/2″ x 4″ (2 x) (Silver Foil)
- 5″ x 3 3/4″, 2 1/4″ x 3 3/4″ (2 x) (Year of Cheer DSP)
- 5 1/4″ x 1 1/4″, 1 1/2″ x 2″ (2x) (Silver Foil)
- 5″ x 1″, 2 1/4″ x 1″ (2X) Year of Cheer DSP

Thanks for stopping by on another beautiful fall day – happy stamping
Each year I have a White Christmas Card class and for this year’s version, one of the cards we made used the Circle Framelits (retired) with a mat of the Year of Cheer Specialty DSP and another mat of Whisper White embossed with the Holly embossing Folder.
The Christmas tree is made with a piece of Whisper White cardstock. It was cut out with 4th circle framelit (counting from the large scallop circle in), cut in half and folded with an origami fold. The tree was trimmed with the mini sequins and decorated with some Rhinestones.
The sentiment from Star of Light was stamped with Silver Encore ink and embossed with Silver embossing powder then heated with the Heat Tool.
Thanks for stopping by on a beautiful fall day.
Here it is the 4th of September when I usually see falling leaves as they turn from the bright greens of summer to the vibrant colors of fall – but it’s steaming out! Oh my goodness, while I have enjoyed the super summer days, I am longing for e thmuch cooler temperatures of fall. It can’t happen soon enough for me!
So I thought that if I shared a Christmas card, I can imagine it being a lot cooler.
This set is carried over into the Annual Catalogue from last year’s Holiday Catalogue. It is so cute with various images not only of this cute gingerbread but also Santa, an Inuit doll, bear (great for baby cards) and reindeer. There is a co-ordinating punch that will make it very easy to cut out the images.
I used the Be Merry DSP that is in the Annual Catalogue to cut different sizes to make the DSP layer. The gingerbread is stamped with Crumb Cake and punched out with the Cookie Cutter punch. Rhinestones are colored black with a Black Sharpie for the eyes. It is popped up on a Cherry Cobbler circle and then layered onto a scallop circle framelit which is adhered to the front of the card with dimensionals.
Stamp the stentiment with Cherry Cobbler ink on apiece of Whisper White and then flag the ends and add to the front of the card.
Thanks for stopping by on this beautiful Labour Day Monday – hope you’ve had an enjoyable long weekend.

Santa’s Sleigh is a carry over stamp set from last year’s Holiday catalogue and I was so happy that it is available as I really didn’t get a chance to make too many cards with it last year but hope to do so this year.
We made this card at my Christmas in August class this past weekend using the set and I love how it turned out with the use of Tranquil Tide and the Delightful Daisy DSP.
We used the Basket Weave technique for the detailed side fold. The reindeer were cut using the Dazzling Diamonds glimmer paper. As I turned the glimmer paper face down on the cutting pad, they are facing left rather than to the left.
We inked up the wreath stamp with Versamark and then with Tranquil Tide and heat embossed with clear embossing powder. As long as you use your Versamark with the color you wish to have embossed, there is no need to purchase the colored embossing powder. The Versamark creates the stickiness to allow the embossing and simply use clear embossing powder to heat set. They were then cut out with the co-ordinating thinlits.
The trees and bows were all cut out with the co-ordinating framelits from the Santa Sleigh’s Thinlits Finally we created some snow on a strip of Whisper White card stock and used the Fine Tip Glue pen to add some adhesive and then sprinkled with Dazzling Diamonds.

Woo Hoo another post! The mail boxes in our complex had been broken into so our mail was being held at the Post Office. I hadn’t had a chance to pick it up until yesterday and what a wonderful surprise to receive this beautiful Christmas card from Sharon, one of my team members. Thank you, Sharon!
Sharon used Emerald Envy for the card base with strips of Presents and Pinecones Designer Washi Tape. The sentiment is from Holly berry Happiness and of course it’s topped off with the sweet reindeer from Santa’s Sleigh.
