Dragonfly Dreams

So happy that Dragonfly Dreams is in the new Annual Catalogue.  Today’s card uses a watercolor technique shared by Cindee Wilkinson.

The card base is Tangerine Tango cut 4 1/4″ x 11″ and scored at 5 1/2″.   Cut the watercolor paper to 3″ x 4″.  Spritz the paper with water and then use a clear block to pick up the ink directly from the ink pad.  Apply the ink from the block onto the paper and repeat this using various colors.  For this card, I used Daffodil Delight, Rich Razzleberry and Tangerine Tango.

As the paper is wet, the ink will spread out when you apply it with the block.  Repeat as often as you want to get the coverage you are pleased with and spritz the paper again if you want to spread the ink around.   This will take a few minutes to dry or you can use your heat tool to speed up the drying process.

This watercolor piece is layered onto a piece of Rich Razzleberry cut 3 1/8″ x 4 1/8″.  Adhere it to the card front with dimensionals.  I rolled the dragonfly using the framelit on Rich Razzleberry card stock.  Trim down the edges of the dimensional sheet to attach to the spine of the dragonfly and adhere to the watercolored piece.  I washed the dragonfly with Wink of Stella which gives it a slight sheen.   Add some rhinestones and stamp the sentiment using Black Archival ink and your card is done!

Thanks for stopping by and have a stamping good day!

Oh So Succulent Retiring

So sad that Oh So Succulent is retiring and will be gone after May 31!

Today’s card using the bundle gives you a sneak peek of a couple of the new In Colors and some retiring product.    Powder Pink and Fresh Fig are the new In Colors  – aren’t they beautiful?

I started with a Fresh Fig card base cut 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ and scored at 4 1/4″.  I stamped two of the flower images in Powder Pink and Mint Macaron and rolled them out with the coordinating framelits.  The Fresh Fig flower was rolled out with the 3 different sizes of the flower and assembled with Tombow.  The trailing leaves were cut with Mint Macaron and the sprigs were stamped with Garden Green classic ink on Garden Green card stock and rolled out with the coordinating framelits.

I brought out the Window Box framelits and cut the flower box using Crumb Cake card stock.  All the floral pieces and box were assembled on a square Powder Pink piece of card stock cut out with the Layering Squares Framelits.  This was layered onto a scallop edge Layering Squares Framlits.

I had a strip of the retiring Blooms and Bliss DSP on my desk and it looked perfect for the card and adhered it to the card front.  I used the Vanilla side of the Doily to lay behind the focal piece.  I added dimensionals to the focal piece and adhered to the card front.  The Fresh Fig centre flower was popped up with a dimensional.

I brushed the leaves of the flowers with Wink of Stella to give them some shimmer and completed them with pearls to the centre of each flower.

The sentiment is also from Oh So Succulent and is stamped using Fresh Fig classic ink on Powder Pink card stock and punched out with the Classic Label punch and adhered to the card front with dimensionals.

When we were in San Diego earlier this month for OnStage and sight seeing at the Hotel del Coronado, there were succulents all over and I captured this beauty in a photo.

Another Swap Card

It’s amazing how when you set your mind to doing something, it gets done so quickly!  This is another swap card I made and this one is a Dutch Door card.

The main card stock is Island Indigo and the layering pieces are the Blooms and Bliss Designer Series Paper.  The square pieces are Mint Macaron and Island Indigo cut with the Layering Squares Framelits.  The sentiment is from Suite Sayings stamped with Island Indigo classic ink and cut out with the Layering Circle Framelits.   The butterfly is punched out with the Bitty Butterfly punch also using the Blooms and Bliss DSP and a small pearl completes it.

The sentiment on the inside is from Dragon Dreams.

Special Reason by Carole

I’ve been MIA as I’ve been busy with some other projects and haven’t had a chance to share some creative with you.  I would like to share this lovely card made by my friend, Carole,  using the Special Reason bundle.

The card base is Sahara Sand and I love the incorporation of the Copper Foil layer and adding some of the flowers in the Copper Foil too.  Absolutely gorgeous!

Can’t believe it’s already April and we will soon receive a list of the retiring products from the 2016 – 2017 Annual Catalogue.  The list will be out next week and I’ll be posting it as soon as it is released.

High Tide Meets Serene Scenery

!I brought out the Serene Scenery Designer Series Paper Stack to make today’s card with the High Tide stamp set.  I made a centre step card and cut the back down to form the backdrop.

The paper stack comes in 6″ x 6″ sheets with many beautiful scenic backgrounds that make your card making so easy!   I cut the sides from each side to place on the side step pieces of the card and then cut the centre portion in one piece.  I did just a tiny bit of sponging at the top of the image and sides using Island Indigo classic ink.   I love the High Tide stamp set but it took me a while to use it.

SUPPLIES:

  • Stamp Set:  High Tide
  • Paper:  Island Indigo, Serene Scenery DS Paper Stack
  • Ink:  Soft Suede, Memento Black, Cherry Cobbler, Island Indigo
  • Accessories:  Stampin’ Sponges

Lift Me Up – Team Meeting

I am so blessed to have such a wonderful downline and we had a super meeting with some members of my team yesterday.  After the business portion, we had great fun as one of the things we did was to make this card that Maxine shared with us.

We made a double z fold card using the delightful Carried Away SAB DSP that co-ordinates with the Lift Me Up stamp set.  It’s a fantastic card, Maxine, thank you!

I am so spoiled as Shannon brought this adorable little plant that certainly brightened my day after trying to adjust to the change to DST.  Still trying to recover from it as I have been waking up at 2:30 a.m. for the past two mornings and can’t get back to sleep!

Pam brought delightful treats as well as Shannon and Maxine and we had delicious lunch.  It’s a wonder that we got through some business with all the food and fun stamping!

Thank you Pam, Shannon and Maxine.  So proud to have you on my team!

Thanks for stopping by and happy stamping!

Tres Chic Beautiful You!

Tres Chic!  That’s the way I would describe this Beautiful You card.  So stylish in her Navy dress.  For this card, I used the paper piecing technique.

The card base is Night of Navy card at 4 1/4″ x 11″ and scored at 5 1/2″.  On the Whisper White layer cut 4″ x 5 1/4″ I added a strip of the Floral Boutique DSP cut 2″ x 5″.

I stamped the lady image using Basic Black Archival ink on a piece of Whisper White cut using the square Stitched Shapes Framelits  (measures at 2 1/8″x 2 1/8″).   For the paper piecing, stamp the image again on a scrap piece of the DSP and fussy cut the dress and hat and adhere it to the stamped image.

Adhere it to a piece of Night of Navy cut with the Layering Squares Framelits (measures 2 5/8″ x 2 5/8″) and then pop it onto the card using dimensionals.  Complete the card with the sentiment stamped using Night of Navy classic ink.

SUPPLIES:

  • Stamp Set:  Beautiful You
  • Paper:  Night of Navy, Whisper White, Floral Boutique DSP
  • Ink:  Basic Black Archival, Night of Navy
  • Accessories:  Stitched Shapes Framelits, Layering Squares Framelits

Tres Chic, Beautiful You!  I love this card for its simplicity and elegance.

Lift Me Up, Up and Away

Yesterday I shared a moving Tasty Truck and when I received the Lift Me Up bundle, I set out to make this card with the balloon going up, up and away!

Here we go!

And into the clouds!

Had fun making this card and hope you are enjoying it!  I used the Sale-A-Bration Carried Away Designer Series Paper for the card, choosing one of the plainer designs for the card.  It’s fabulous paper and will have to get another package or two before Sale-A-Bration ends at the end of the month!
