High Tide Meets Serene Scenery

!I brought out the Serene Scenery Designer Series Paper Stack to make today’s card with the High Tide stamp set.  I made a centre step card and cut the back down to form the backdrop.

The paper stack comes in 6″ x 6″ sheets with many beautiful scenic backgrounds that make your card making so easy!   I cut the sides from each side to place on the side step pieces of the card and then cut the centre portion in one piece.  I did just a tiny bit of sponging at the top of the image and sides using Island Indigo classic ink.   I love the High Tide stamp set but it took me a while to use it.

SUPPLIES:

  • Stamp Set:  High Tide
  • Paper:  Island Indigo, Serene Scenery DS Paper Stack
  • Ink:  Soft Suede, Memento Black, Cherry Cobbler, Island Indigo
  • Accessories:  Stampin’ Sponges

Lift Me Up – Team Meeting

I am so blessed to have such a wonderful downline and we had a super meeting with some members of my team yesterday.  After the business portion, we had great fun as one of the things we did was to make this card that Maxine shared with us.

We made a double z fold card using the delightful Carried Away SAB DSP that co-ordinates with the Lift Me Up stamp set.  It’s a fantastic card, Maxine, thank you!

I am so spoiled as Shannon brought this adorable little plant that certainly brightened my day after trying to adjust to the change to DST.  Still trying to recover from it as I have been waking up at 2:30 a.m. for the past two mornings and can’t get back to sleep!

Pam brought delightful treats as well as Shannon and Maxine and we had delicious lunch.  It’s a wonder that we got through some business with all the food and fun stamping!

Thank you Pam, Shannon and Maxine.  So proud to have you on my team!

Thanks for stopping by and happy stamping!

Tres Chic Beautiful You!

Tres Chic!  That’s the way I would describe this Beautiful You card.  So stylish in her Navy dress.  For this card, I used the paper piecing technique.

The card base is Night of Navy card at 4 1/4″ x 11″ and scored at 5 1/2″.  On the Whisper White layer cut 4″ x 5 1/4″ I added a strip of the Floral Boutique DSP cut 2″ x 5″.

I stamped the lady image using Basic Black Archival ink on a piece of Whisper White cut using the square Stitched Shapes Framelits  (measures at 2 1/8″x 2 1/8″).   For the paper piecing, stamp the image again on a scrap piece of the DSP and fussy cut the dress and hat and adhere it to the stamped image.

Adhere it to a piece of Night of Navy cut with the Layering Squares Framelits (measures 2 5/8″ x 2 5/8″) and then pop it onto the card using dimensionals.  Complete the card with the sentiment stamped using Night of Navy classic ink.

SUPPLIES:

  • Stamp Set:  Beautiful You
  • Paper:  Night of Navy, Whisper White, Floral Boutique DSP
  • Ink:  Basic Black Archival, Night of Navy
  • Accessories:  Stitched Shapes Framelits, Layering Squares Framelits

Lift Me Up, Up and Away

Yesterday I shared a moving Tasty Truck and when I received the Lift Me Up bundle, I set out to make this card with the balloon going up, up and away!

Here we go!

And into the clouds!

Had fun making this card and hope you are enjoying it!  I used the Sale-A-Bration Carried Away Designer Series Paper for the card, choosing one of the plainer designs for the card.  It’s fabulous paper and will have to get another package or two before Sale-A-Bration ends at the end of the month!

Tasty Trucks

This year’s Sale-A-Bration selections are so awesome and Tasty Trucks is one of the cutest stamp sets in the brochure.

We made some invitation cards for Colin several years ago with a bus on the front that moved across the card front and today’s card reminded me of it so we made this at our recent stamp club meeting.

Pull the ribbon and the truck moves along.

Isn’t it cute?   I used the Sheltering Tree stamp set for the background and just received my High Tide stamp set and added the birds from that  set.

Be sure to come back tomorrow as I have another “moving” card share for you.

There are only 26 days (who’s counting?)  left for Sale-A-Bration.   Don’t miss out on getting some of the most awesome stamp sets, designers series paper, glimmer paper from this year’s choices.  A $60 purchase, not including taxes and shipping, qualifies for a free item!

Window Shopping

March 1 and the weather has come in like a lamb, does this mean that it will be going out like a lion?  We’ve had so much snow in the Lower Mainland the past few months, it’s been incredible(depressing) and I’m not used to it!   I like it temperate – not too cold and not too hot and that’s generally what we are accustomed to rather than the severe changes that’s been happening.

Enough of the weather.  Here’s my Window Shopping card that brings some cheeriness to the cold, drab weather with some nice bright colors.

The card base is Calypso Coral (one of my fav colors) with a Peek-a-Boo Peach layer.  The Whisper White layer has been embossed with the Petal Burst embossing folder.

The floral image was colored with Old Olive, Peek-a-Boo Peach and So Saffron markers.  I used the Layering Squares framelits to cut it out and then adhered it to a piece of Peek-a-Boo Peach card stock cut out with the Stitched Shape Framelits.  Yes, they are now available and very popular with my customers!

The sentiment is also from the Window Shopping stamp set, stamped in Calypso Coral classic ink on a strip of Whisper White and flagged on one end.  Sponging on the edges completed the banner.

I stamped a butterfly from the Papillon Potpourri stamp set using Calypso Coral classic ink, punched it out with the Bitty Butterfly punch and adhered it to the card with a glue dot.

SUPPLIES:

  • Stamps:  Window Shopping (available in a bundle with the Window Box thinlits), Papillon Potpourri
  • Paper:  Calypso Coral, Peek-a-Boo Peach, Whisper White
  • Ink:  Calypso Coral, Peek-a-Boo Peach, Old Olive
  • Accessories:  Stitched Shapes Framelits (#145372, $40), Layering Squares Framelits, Bitty Butterfly Punch, Petal Burst Embossing Folder, Sponge, Stampin’ Write Markers

Happy Valentine’s Day – Sneak Peek

LoveHappy Valentine’s Day!

My Valentine’s card uses one of the soon to be released Sale-A-Bration items available starting February 21.

Glimmer Paper! 12 sheets of 6″ x 6″ Glimmer Paper in Bermuda Bay, Mint Macaron and Sweet Sugarplum – I love them and this Bermuda Bay glimmer paper is absolutely gorgeous!

I used the “line” thinlit from the Swirly Scribbles Thinlits to cut out the portion at the top of the Whisper White. Added some of the glimmer paper behind it and attached it back into the card. The hearts were made with the Sweet & Sassy Framelits and the sentiment is from Love Sparkles.

There will be two other stamp sets in the second release of Sale-A-Bration being offered and I’m sure you will love them.

Sale-A-bration ends on March 31 and while it seems a way off, trust me, time flies and if you don’t want to be disappointed in choosing your Sale-A-Bration items, be sure to place your qualifying orders ($60 exclusive of tax and shipping) to ensure that you’ll get the items you want.

So In Love

I used the So In Love stamp set and emboss resist technique for this card.  I like using this technique with outline images as it brings a “wow” factor to any card you make with it.

The card base is Whisper White with a layer of Sweet Sugarplum cut 5 1/8″ x 3 7/8″.  The Whisper White panel is cut 5″ x 3 3/4″ and embossed with the new Falling Petals Textured Impressions embossing folder.  Adhere to the Sweet Sugarplum panel and then add a strip of the Sweet Sugar plum 3/8″ Ruched ribbon around the lower portion of the panel and attach to the card base.  Cut another piece of ribbon and tie around the ribbon to form a knot.

The Whisper White focal panel is cut 4 1/4″ x 2 1/4″ and matted onto a piece of Sweet Sugarplum cut 4 3/8″ x 2 3/8″. Use the embossing buddy on the Whisper White panel before embossing as it will remove any static where you do not want the embossing powder to land.
Stamp the images with Versamark and then sprinkle on some White embossing powder and heat emboss with the heat tool.

Use a sponge dauber and apply the Sweet Sugarplum ink, starting in the centre of the flower to have the most color intensity and slowly move out from the centre.  Sponge more ink on the whole panel to complete the focal panel.   Use a piece of paper towel to remove any excess ink on the embossed portions of the flowers and the embossing pops even more.

Adhere the focal panel onto the card with dimensionals to pop it up.

Supplies:

  • Stamp set:  So in Love
  • Paper:  Whisper White, Sweet Sugarplum
  • Ink:  Versamark
  • Accessories:  Falling Petals Textured Embossing Folder, Embossing Buddy, White Embossing Powder, Heat Tool, 3/8″ Sweet Sugarplum Ruched Ribbon, Dimensionals

Butterfly Shaker Card

Who doesn’t like butterflies?  Especially a butterfly shaker card?

The base card stock is Blushing Bride with the Fluttering embossed Very Vanilla for the first layer.  If you don’t have the Falling In Love DSP from the Occasions Catalogue, it really is a must have with all the beautiful subtle colors in the package.  The strip across the centre, layered over a piece of Blushing Bride card stock,  is one of the patterns and another pattern is used inside the shaker portion.

I used the Layering Squares Framelits to create the frame for the shaker portion and the sequins are from the Fancy Frost Sequins.

SUPPLIES:

  • Paper:  Blushing Bride, Very Vanilla, Falling In Love DSP, Acetate Sheets
  • Accessories:  Fluttering Embossing Folder, Bold Butterfly Framelits, Butterflies Thinlits, Embossing Buddy, Fancy Frost Sequins, Foam Adhesive Strips.

Mediterranean Moments

We used the Mediterranean Moments stamp set at our Stampers Club yesterday and paired it with the Beautiful You stamp set.

The masking technique was used to introduce the image from Beautiful You.  Stamp the girl image onto a Sticky Note and cut it out.  Stamp the girl image onto the Whisper White card stock and then place your mat over that.  Ink up the image from Mediterranean Moments and stamp and there you have the girl strolling down the avenue.

Our base card stock is Calypso Coral with a mat of Peekaboo Peach.  I always find it very relaxing to color and it was so enjoyable adding the different colors with a blender pen to fill in the images.

Thanks for stopping by on this beautiful sunny day – it looks great outside but I’m sure it’s chilly with more cold weather coming by the end of the week.
