I chose the Cheerful Daisies stamp set to make this fractured shutter card. I have seen many of these lately and wanted to showcase the Cheerful Daisies along with a special pokey tool in co-ordinating colors for this card.
I enjoy making cards in Basic Black as it goes well with any color to make a striking card and I’ve always loved the black and yellow combination. The card base is Basic Black with the co-ordinating layer in Lemon Lolly. I die cut the center square using the second largest square die from the Stylish Shapes die set. I adhered it to the top centre of the Basic Black card base. I cut strips of 1/4″ x 5″ Basic Black and adhered them around the square. I started by adhering one strip flush against the square and flush with the top of the square and continued around on all four sides. I then trimmed off the excess strips. This provides the illusion of a separate panel on the card base. Don’t you just love it?
The sentiment from the stamp set is stamped in Memento Black ink. I finished the card by adding the 3 mm size Lemon Lolly color of the Adhesive-Backed Solid Gems to the card.
Pokey Tools
How would you like to use this glammed up pokey tool in your craft room?
I started making these pokey tools as I thought they would add some bling to my craft room and it is so much easier to find than the one I’ve been using.
These are the 6″ size
