Valley in Bloom Sympathy Card

The lovely Valley in Bloom designer series papers is part of the Valley in Bloom suite of products. The stamp bundle is Lily of the Valley and the rest of the suite includes Luxe White specialty dsp, Shimmering Dots and the Floral Spray 3D embossing folder.

I used a sheet of the Valley in Bloom dsp for a sympathy card as the lily floral images on the sheet seemed so appropriate for this style of card. It was also very easy to put together as so often the dsp used makes the card on its own.

I used Pretty Peacock for the card base cut in a regular A2 size, 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ size and scored at 4 1/4″. The background of the sheet is a soft blue and I found that Pool Party card stock worked very well with it. I cut a 4″ x 5 1/4″ panel of the Pool Party to use as a mat for the dsp panel which is cut to 3 7/8″ x 5 1/8″.

I used a sentiment from the Phrases & Frames stamp set and stamped it with Pretty Peacock classic ink. I stamped the butterflies from the All Aflutter stamp set also using Pretty Peacock classic ink. On the inside of the card is a 4″ x 5 1/4″ of Basic White with a 3/8″ x 3 7/8″ strip of the Valley in Bloom at the bottom of the panel. I also stamped another grouping of the butterflies with Pretty Peacock classic ink on the lower left of the panel.
