Adorable Owls

I chose the Adorable Owls Sale-A-Bration stamp set for today’s card share. I used one of the patterns from the Fancy Flora 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper which goes well with the Soft Suede card base color to tuck behind the Split Card Texture dies.

The owl is stamped with Soft Suede classic ink. It’s recommended to use the Memento Black if using Stampin’ Blends to color in an image, however, the Soft Suede ink did not bleed when I was adding the color . I used the Light and Dark Stampin’ Blends in Crumb Cake for the owl, the eye color is Parakeet Party, Flirty Flamingo for the beak and Daffodil Delight for the feet.

After coloring the owl, I die cut it using the 2 1/4″ scallop Layering Circle dies and adhered it with Stampin’ Dimensionals to a 2 3/8″ Layering Circle die using a scrap of the Hand Penned DSP. The focal image is also popped up with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I stamped the sentiment from the stamp set on a scrap of Very Vanilla card stock and die cut with the smallest flagged banner die from the Stylish Shapes dies. It’s popped up with Mini Dimensionals. I added small and large Enamel Dot Essentials to complete the card front.

On the inside, the party owl is colored with the same colors used for the owl on the card front. The party hat is colored with Light and Dark Flirty Flamingo Blends. The sentiment is from the Peaceful Moments stamp set.

I used a scrap of Hand Penned DSP for the mat on the front as it had the right shade of yellow to co-ordinate with the card.

Cutting Instructions:

• Soft Suede: Card Base – 4 1/4″ x 11″, score at 5 1/2″, 3″ x 5″ panel to die cut the Split Card Textures
• Very Vanilla: 4 1/8″ x 5 3/8″ for the front mat; 4″ x 5 1/4″ for inside mat; scraps for front owl focal image and sentiment
• Fancy Flora DSP: 3 1/4″ x 5 1/8″; 1/2″ x 4 ” for inside
