I have been wanting to make a rocker card for a long time but couldn’t find any images or paper that made me want to make one until I saw the Lily Pond Lane Designer Series Paper. These are 6″ x 6″ designer papers and they have the cutest images to make some sweet cards.
The card base is Lost Lagoon with layers of Pretty in Pink and Lily Pond Lane DSP. I used the Deckled Circles to cut the card base. I needed a size that would fit in our regular envelopes when folded in half and found the 2nd largest die to work best. To create the layering mats, you can choose any of the smaller sizes to achieve the look you want.
I die cut the Lost Lagoon card base and folded it over to meet the other side of the circle and then used the bone folder to create the crease to form the rocker card base.
After die cutting the Pretty in Pink circle, I positioned it over the folded card base and drew a pencil line across the back of the Pretty in Pink circle. I then cut it on the pencil line to create the second layer of the card. I used the same method for the DSP layer.
For top circle piece, I used the 8th largest circle to die cut the Lost Lagoon circle. I die cut the DSP focal image using a smaller circle. This was then adhered to the Lost Lagoon circle base with Stampin’ Dimensionals. To attach the focal image, I lined up the bottom of the card on my grid paper and dry fit the focal image to not exceed 4 1/4″ so that it would fit into the envelope. I then adhered it to the bottom portion of the card with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
I used a sentiment from a retired stamp set called Elephant Parade. I stamped it on a left over 1/2″ strip of Basic White card stock using Pretty in Pink classic ink. You know all those strips of paper you get after cutting out the 4″ x 5 1/4″ Basic White? Don’t throw them away – they’re great for stamping small sentiments and other tiny images.
I cut a strip of Lost Lagoon from some scraps and adhered them together, cutting each end on a slant. The sentiment is adhered to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
On the inside of the card I added a half circle of Basic White. I die cut a piece of the DSP using a smaller circle and trimmed it to fit the bottom of card. This is the area for writing your sentiment.
