Ornamental Christmas Arched Accordian

I used the new Online Exclusive Ornamental Christmas stamp bundle and co-ordinating Modern Christmas Specialty Designer Series Paper, part of the Modern Christmas suite to make today’s arched accordian fun fold card.

It is very easy to make this card as it is simply die cutting the arches and putting them together on a panel. It’s deciding on the DSP to choose from all the beautiful DSP that is available that takes the time.

Cutting instructions:

Basic Black:
- Card Base: 3″ x 10 3/4″, score at 3 1/2″ and 7 1/4″
- Base arch: 3 3/4″ x 5″ (cut 3) die cut using second largest arch
Gold Foil: Second arch layer: 3 1/2″ x 4 3/4″ (cut 3) die cut using third largest arch
DSP: Top arch layer: 3 1/4″ x 4 1/2″ (cut 2) die cut using 4th largest arch
Basic White: Top arch layer for sentiment: 3 1/4″ x 4 1/2″, die cut one using 4th largest arch

Prepare the Basic White arch by running a embossing buddy over the arch (to reduce static). Next stamp the sentiment with Versamark ink. Sprinkle gold emboss powder over the sentiment and set with a heat tool. Die cut the small diamond shapes on a piece of scrap Gold Foil with the co-ordinating dies. Adhere them to the top of the arch with mini glue dots.

Assemble the arch panels (2) by adhering the Gold Foil and DSP arches to the Basic Black arch.

To complete the card:

Lay out the card base and apply adhesive on the centre square around the perimeter of the square
Line up one of the DSP arches in the square, ensuring it is centred in the square and flush with the bottom edge of the card base. Press to adhere.
Flip the card base over so the back is facing you. Fold the first square over the centre square and repeat the application of adhesive around the perimeter of the square – leave about a 1/4″ space from the edges. Line up the other DSP arch with the back of the middle arch and press to adhere.
For the sentiment arch, turn the card base over (as above) and repeat the steps for adding adhesive and squaring the arch to the middle arch.
