Terrific Toadstools Pleat Card

I used the Toadstool Gardens Designer Series Paper along with the Terrific Toadstools stamp set to make this pleat card.

I thought I’d try this layout that’s been “poppin’ up” online and thought it appropriate to use this stamp set.

I started with a Melon Mambo card base of 4 1/4″ x 11″ scored at 5 1/2″. I cut a piece of Granny Apple Green card stock at 4 1/8″ x 5 3/8″. I used one of the 6″ x 6″ DSP sheets and trimmed off 3/4″ at the bottom, leaving a piece 6″ x 5 1/4″. On the 6″ side of the DSP cut at 2 1/2″, and 4 1/4″ which will give you one piece at 2 1/2″ x 5 1/4″ and two pieces at 1 3/4″ x 5 1/4″.

Next I adhered the Granny Apple Green panel to the card base. Add adhesive to the 2 1/2″ piece of DSP and adhere to the centre of the card base. I used Tombow glue to add a thin strip of glue to the left hand side of one of the 1 3/4″ strips of DSP and adhered it to the card base leaving a small margin. On the other piece of 1 3/4″ strip of DSP adhere a fine line of glue on the right hand side of the DSP and adhere it to the right side of the card front leaving a small margin.

On the left DSP panel, fold it back towards the left hand side of the card on an angle to create the pleat. Take the fold to approximately half way down. Repeat this on the bottom portion of the DSP.

Repeat these folds on the DSP on the right hand side. Use the bone folder to press down the pleats for a crisp fold. Add glue dots on the back of the pleats to secure it to the card.

I used Granny Apple Green card stock to die cut the second smallest from the Stitched Rectangle dies. For the sentiment piece, die cut a piece of Basic White using the smallest Stitched Rectangle die. Stamp the sentiment from Terrific Toadstools using Melon Mambo classic ink.

Stamp 2 of the leaf image from the set on Granny Apple Green cardstock using Granny Apple Green classic ink. Stamp another on So Succulent cardstock using Granny Apply Green classic ink and fussy cut these leaves.

Adhere the sentiment piece to the Granny Apple Green Stitched rectangle with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Add Stampin’ Dimensionals to the completed focal image and adhere to the centre of the card. Add the leaves to the focal image with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals. Make a small bow using White twine and adhere with a glue dot.

On the inside of the card, I added a panel of Basic White cut 4 1/3″ x 5 3/8″ and trimmed down the scrap of DSP to add to the bottom of the Basic White panel.
