An Artisan Sketched Garden Shadow Box Card

Catching up slowly to making some cards that have been on my list of “to make”. For today’s card I selected a piece of the black and white Artisan Sketched Garden DSP with flower images.

I coloured the images with Daffodil Delight, Granny Apple and Timid Tiger Stampin’ Blends. The panel is 3″ x 4″ and after colouring the images, I cut three 1″ vertical strips. Next, with the strips in horizontal position, cut four 1″ strips. This will give you 12 1″ dsp squares. As you cut the strips, be sure that they are placed in the order of the panel image.

I then cut 12 1″ square pieces of Basic Black card stock to create the “shadow” for the 1″ square dsp pieces.

Add adhesive to a portion of the dsp and layer it onto a 1″ Black square leaving about a 1/8″ space on the left side of the square and 1/8″ space up from the bottom. This gives the illusion of a shadow behind the dsp. Repeat this process with the remaining squares – be sure to keep them in order.

Cut a piece of Basic White card stock 3″ x 4″. Add your focal pieces to the Basic White panel with Multipurpose Liquid Glue. The glue gives you time to adjust the spacing of the squares on the Basic White.

I used the oval shaped die from the Unbounded Love dies for the sentiment piece. I die cut one in Basic Black and another in Basic White. The centre comes away from the outer frame. I stamped the sentiment from Circle Sayings using Daffodil Delight classic ink on the Basic White piece then added the Basic Black frame around it. The two pieces are secured with small pieces of Tear & Tape on the back. Stampin’ Dimensionals are added to the back of the sentiment piece to pop it up on the card front. A couple of green Low-Profile Sparkle Dots are added around the sentiment.

A panel of 4″ x 5 1/4″ Basic White is adhered to the inside of the card for writing your greeting. I added a 1/2″ x 4″ strip of the DSP to the bottom of the panel.
