Botanical Bliss Tri Fold Twist

I love making cards with fun folds and I love the tri fold twist on this card.

I saw this on Chris Slogar’s site, www.buckeyeinklings.com and just had to try it out.

I used the Botanical Bliss stamp set for the card and started with Pineapple Punch card stock for the base card.  The mats are the 2018-2010 In Color 6″ x 6″ DSP as well as the Scripty 3D Embossing Folder in Whisper White for the other mat.

It sits as a portrait card and when you undo the ribbon and pull it apart, it goes into the landscape position.

Card Dimensions:

• Pineapple Punch – two pieces cut 4″ x 10 1/4″ and scored at 5 1/2″ on both pieces; Scrap Pineapple Punch cut out with the second largest Scallop Square Layering Square framelit
• Whisper White – 3 3/4″ x 5 1/4″ for inside of card; 3 7/8″ x 5 1/8″ for Scripty embossed folder mat; scrap for focal piece cut out with third largest Layering Squares Framelit
• Pineapple Punch 2018 – 2020 DSP – cut 3 7/8″ x 3 7/8″

Assembling:

• Trim off a sliver of one of the 4″ x 10 1/4″ Pineapple Punch card stock on the 5 1/2″ side and layer on top of each other adhering with Liquid Tombow glue
• Working with the card stock in landscape, make a pencil mark at the 4″ on the left hand part of the card and then score from the 4″ mark to the lower left corner
• Repeat this step on the other side of the card, only making the pencil mark at the bottom of the panel at the 4″ mark and then score from the top right corner to the 4″ mark
• Erase pencil marks and fold on score lines, twisting backward.
• Cut DSP corner to corner to form two triangles
• Place 3 7/8″ x 5 1/8″ Whisper White card stock in Scripty 3D embossing folder and use 3D Embossing Folder Plate (blue) to run through Big Shot.
  • SANDWICH USING 3D EMBOSSING FOLDER WITH NEW 3D EMBOSSING FOLDER PLATE (BLUE)
    • From bottom up:
      • Big Shot Platform
      • 3D Embossing Folder with cardstock in folder
      • 3D Embossing Folder Plate (blue)
  • After embossing Whisper White, make a pencil mark 5/8″ from the bottom on the left hand side and repeat on the right hand side only with the pencil mark at 5/8″ from the top.  Cut from mark to mark, erase pencil marks and position behind folds
  • Ink up floral stamp with Pineapple Punch and Call me Clover Stampin’ Write Markers to create focal piece and add greeting; stamp image on inside panel and adhere
  • Cut out with Layering Squares Framelits with sizes noted above
  • Cut 16″ of ribbon and secure on the top triangle and add layered squares with dimensionals on the top portion of the square only
  • Add pearls to focal image and tie bow and you’re finished!
