Two things that I have been wanting to do but hadn’t found the time but made an effort today to do both and finally did it.
I wanted to make a card using the Bright Wishes stamp set and also make a card using the Polished Stone technique, one of my all time favourite techniques. I did both and this is the result!
I started with the focal panel first cutting the Glossy White card stock to 3 3/4″ x 5″. I added some Wild Wasabi and Old Olive ink refill on a soaked cotton ball and dabbed it to the lower portion of the panel as I wanted to create a grassy image. I then soaked another cotton ball with alcohol and added Pool Party and Marina Mist ink refill and dabbed it on the upper portion of the panel to create the sky. I then added some Gold Mixative ink refill to a soaked cotton ball and lightly dabbed it on the panel randomly.
I inked up the image with Black Archival ink and stamped onto the panel and added the sentiment from Happy Birthday Gorgeous to the bottom of the panel. I then adhered it to a piece of 3 7/8″ x 5 1/8″ Black card stock and then onto the card base of Marina Mist cut 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ and scored at 4 1/4″.
Thanks for stopping by on another beautiful day and happy stamping!

Love the look of your background. I have not heard of gold mixative. Does SU sell it or what brand did you use? Or where did you find to buy it? Thanks for sharing your card.

This is a Ranger Mixative that I bought at a local hobby store. If you have the ink refills for the Encore Gold ink pads, you can use that as well as that is what I used when SU carried it.

Hi Dayanna,
I have another question about this technique. You say you soaked a cotton ball in alcohol to apply the inks and the gold mixative. What kind of alcohol is this? I finally got some gold mixative and want to try this now.
Thank you,
Shirley Baker.
