Favored Flowers Diamond Z Fold Card

Did you choose the Favored Flowers Designer Series Paper from Sale-A-Bration as your free gift? I certainly did and have so enjoyed using it for various cards. This is one I made in a Diamond Z fold card.

I used Calypso Coral for the card base and chose a matching pattern of the DSP with that color. I added Very Vanilla mats to the card base and then the DSP. The squares are formatted with the same mats but with a different pattern of DSP.

The card base is cut at 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ and scored at 2 1/8″, 4 1/4″. Add the assembled panels to the two narrow panels and inside of the card.

Line up one of the smaller squares in a diamond configuration at the edge of the front panel, with the tip at the very top and adhere with adhesive on the left side of the square. Repeat this for the other small square and line up to the bottom of the front panel.

Take the mechanism that will pop out the inside square and crease on the score lines. Add adhesive to the two end portion and fold with the glued ends meeting together. Position the centre score line to th centre of the card with the 4 1/4″ score line of the card, then press down to adhere the glue. Close the card and it forms a box to which you will add the larger square. Dry fit it in the diamond shape on the mechanism, centering it between the two small squares on the front panel and have the right point lined up to the edge of the DSP. Add a tiny bit of glue to the tip of the square and press down on the mechanism to adhere it.

The sentiment tag is die cut with the small die from the Fabulous Frames dies. I used a sentiment from Go To Greetings and stamped with Evening Evergreen classic ink. I added two Evening Evergreen 2021-2023 In Color Opal Rounds to the sentiment tag to complete the card.

• Calypso Coral:
  • Card Base – 8 ½” x 5 ½”, score at 2 1/8”, 4 ¼”;
  • Large Square: 2 ¼” x 2 ¼”
  • Small Squares:  2” x 2” (cut 2);
  • Mechanism: 3” x 2 ½” score at ¾” 1 ½ 2 ¼” on the 3” side
• Very Vanilla:
  • Front Panels: 1 7/8” x 5 3/8” (cut 2)
  • Inside Panel & Back : 4 1/8” x 5 3/8” (cut 2)
  • Large Square: 2 1/8” x 2 1/8”
  • Small Squares:  1 7/8” x 1 7/8” (cut 2)
  • Scrap for sentiment die
• DSP: Favored Flowers Calypso Coral pattern:
  • Front panels: 1 7/8” x 5 ¼” (cut 2);
  • Inside Panel:  4” x 5 ¼”;
• DSP:  Favored Flowers Floral pattern
  • Large Square: 2” x 2”
  • Small Squares:   1 ¾” x 1 ¾” (cut 2)
