The Hang an Ornament in the Holiday Mini is one of the best valued holiday bundle priced below $50. I made this card for a class and used one of the sketches on page 22 of the Annual Catalogue as inspiration for the card. I used the 6th sketch on the top row and changed the rectangles to circles with the ornaments and the sentiment piece in a small rectangle shape. I also used some Gilded Leafing on the embossed panel.
I started with a card base of Cherry Cobbler, then embossed a 4″ x 5 1/4″ Basic White panel using the So Swirly embossing folder. The ornaments are die cut using the sheets from the Season of Elegance Specialty Designer Series paper, one of each in Cherry Cobbler, Basic Beige and Mossy Meadow/Old Olive sheets. I die cut the middle scallop strip in the same card stock colors. Next I applied several of the retired Gold Adhesive Backed Swirls onto the scallop strips. I die cut the caps for the ornaments in Gold Foil and adhered them to the top of the ornaments.
I added some extra texture to the Basic White So Swirly embossed panel with the Gilded Leafing. I applied liquid glue on the panel with a sponge (retired) and then waited for the glue to become sticky and flaked the Gold Leafing onto the card. I pressed the leafing into the panel and used a dry paint brush to work the leafing well onto the panel and brushed off the excess. The Gilded Leafing added that extra gold texturing similar to that on the DSP ornaments. The ornaments are then adhered onto the panel with Stampin’ Dimensionals
The sentiment is stamped with Cherry Cobbler classic ink and then die cut with the rectangle die from the set. It is then adhered to a Cherry Cobbler scallop strip and popped onto the card front.
