Sending Smiles in Parakeet Party today to brighten the grey, rainy day that we are having. But as I’m writing this post, the rain has stopped and the skies seem to be clearing up – in time for the weekend, I hope!
Here’s a fun fold card using the Sending Smiles stamp set. I’m not sure what the fold is called but as I was going through the cards I made years ago, I came across one using this fold. I decided to use it for today’s share with a new stamp set and new colors.
Parakeet Party, one of the new In Colors, is the card base and decorated with a sheet of the In Color 6″ x 6″ DSP. Flip up the fold for this look.
On the inside is a panel of Basic White for the sentiment.
I started with a card base of 4 1/4″ x 11″, scored at 2 1/2″ and 6 3/4″. Add the DSP to the top of the fold. At the 2 1/2″ score line, line up the score line in the centre of a 2″ Circle Punch (retired) (or use Layering Circle dies). Push the punch as far as it will go and punch out the circle.
I used the retired 1 3/4″ Circle Punch (or use Layering Circle dies) in Basic White to stamp the image and adhere to the cut out 2″ Parkakeet Party circle piece.
Fold up the lower portion of the card stock and adhere the DSP. Position the focal circle in the punched 2″ circle, placing it just a smidge lower in the circle so that the top portion of the card will open easily. Add adhesive to the lower portion of the focal circle and secure to the card stock as shown in the middle photo above.
Place the Basic White card stock on the inside of the card, flip it over and trace the lower portion of the circle with a pencil and then punch out the half circle. Adhere to the inside of the card.
Complete the card with the 1/8″ ribbon tied on the top portion of the card.
Die cut the base for the sentiment in Basic White and the sentiment in Parakeet Party with the Sending Dies. Be sure to keep the little dot for the “i” in the word. Add to the card and you’re done.
