Today starts the Year of the Pig in the Chinese Lunar Year and I thought I would attempt a card using This Little Piggy for my Chinese New Year card.
It was difficult to get a clearer shot with glare from the gold foil. I started with a card base of Real Red (good luck in the Chinese culture). I cut a piece of Gold Foil 5″ x 3 3/4″ and cut out the frame using one of the Rectangle Stitched Framelits. I also cut another piece of Real Red card stock the side of the inside portion of the frame and nestled it into the frame opening.
The pig is stamped with Gold Metallic ink and embossed with Gold embossing powder. I printed the greeting on Whisper White card stock and red ink from my computer and trimmed it down to fit the card. It’s popped up with dimensionals. I added a few gold gems on the card.
Thanks for stopping by on this beautiful sunny, but very cold, day in beautiful British Columbia. I wish a Gung Hei Fat Choy to all my family and friends and wishes for good health, happiness and prosperity in the Year of the Pig.
Happy crafting!
