Everything old is new again, right? It’s been sometime since I made a card using the Cracked Glass technique and at our last club class, we decided to use this technique and this is the result.
Stampin’ Up! used to carry a product called Glassy Glaze that you need for this technique but it was discontinued. We used the UTEE that you can get from your local hobby store to produce the cracked glass effect.
For the cracked technique, we stamped the images on the Whisper White card stock. Then cover the entire piece with Versamark and then sprinkle the UTEE over it and heat with the heat tool. While it is still warm, add another layer of UTEE and heat again. Repeat this process for a total of 3 runs. Place in the freezer for a few minutes and gently “crack” the image that provided a cracked glass effect. You can add more texture to your art piece by sponging one of the colors used for the stamped images into the cracked grooves.
We used the new Oh My Stars embossing folder for the background layer. The stamp set is Touches of Texture and the ink colors are Peekaboo Peach, Pear Pizzazz and Daffodil Delight.
Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful stamping day!
