Today’s card is a diagonal easel card using the Wildflower Designs stamps and dies. It’s been a long while that I made one of this type of easel cards and I happened to come across one that I made many years ago and thought it would be a good layout to follow for this card.
I started with a Misty Moonlight card base cut 4 1/4″ x 11″ and scored at 5 1/2″. To make the diagonal I opened up the card stock and placed the top right corner in the cutting track of the paper trimmer. As it is positioned in a diagonal position, I lined up the lower left corner of the card stock at the 5 1/2″ score line and moved the scoring blade from the top right to the bottom left.
I cut a piece of the Wildly Flower DSP 4″ x 5 1/4″ and placed it on the paper trimmer with the top left corner in the cutting track and lined up the bottom right corner in the cutting track and cut the DSP.
I folded the diagonal score line and burnished it well with my bone folder and adhered the two pieces of DSP in the two triangle sections of the card front with liquid glue.
For the focal image, I die cut two of the scalloped die in Misty Moonlight. Once the card stock is cut with the die, the outside border separates from the middle of the card stock. In order to have the back of the focal image the same as the front and also to keep the two pieces together I used Scotch Tape to secure the outer frame with the centre piece. I then added the other frame on top of the first one to adhere the two frames together.
I die cut the smaller die on Basic White card stock and then embossed it with the So Swirly Embossing Folder. I stamped the small flower from the stamp set in Memento Black and colored with the retired Rococo Rose and Mossy Meadow Stampin’ Blends. I then die cut it with the co-ordinating die and attached it to a Scallop Oval in Moody Mauve card stock. The Scallop Oval is from the double oval punch which is retired. I lined up the image on the card and added adhesive to the lower right of the focal image and adhered it to the card front
For the inside of the card I cut a piece of Basic White cut 4″ x 5 1/4″ and adhered it to the inside of the card. I cut a piece of DSP 3/4″ x 4″ and attached a strip of Adhesive Sheet to it an adhered it towards the bottom of the card. I cut a piece of Wild Wheat card stock 10/16″ and adhered it to the DSP strip. Next I stamped the sentiment using Misty Moonlight classic ink on a strip of Basic White. I than die cut the image and adhered to the bumper piece.
I added some Wink of Stella to the flower in the focal image and two of the small Adhesive Backed Textured Dots that is part of the Wildflower Designs suite of products on the bumper strip.
When you open the card, fold on the diagonal fold and place against the bumper strip.
