Today’s card is a book binding Z fold card using the Winterly Tree Tops stamp bundle. In most if not all of the Stampin’ Up! co-ordinating Designer Series Papers to the bundles, there are images that can be die cut. The bird was die cut from one of the sheets of the Nests of Winter DSP. I also cut out some of the berries on the same sheet and fussy cut them to add on the sentiment piece.
I started with a card base of Coastal Cabana cut at 4 1/4″ x 11″ and scored at 2 1/8″, 4 1/4″ and 5 1/2″. I adhered the section between the 4 1/4″ and 5 1/2″ section to form the basic book binding card.
Next I folded the 2 1/8″ score line back toward the left. I cut a piece of Coastal Cabana at 3 1/4″ x 4 1/4″ and attached that to the folded section.
I chose several patterns from the Nests of Winter DSP and cut the following strips: 1 piece at 1″ x 4″ in 2 different patterns, 2 pieces at 1 7/8″ x 4″ of one pattern, and 1 piece 1 7/8″ x 4″ of another pattern.
Fold out the front of the card and add one of the 1″ x 4″ DSP onto the book binding section, next add one of the 1 7/8″ x 4″ DSP to the middle section and another 1 7/8″ x 4 DSP to the section on the right side.
For the inside of the card, I cut a piece of Basic White cut 4″ x 4″ and adhered it to the right side of the card. One of the 1″ strips of DSP is adhered to the right hand side. Adhere the remaining 1 7/8″ x 4″ DSP to the section to the left of the inside section.
For the focal point, I cut a DSP pattern at 3″ x 4″ and adhered it to the Coastal Cabana piece. I die cut the bird image from a piece of Basic White and adhered it to the die cut bird. This provides a little more substance to the bird image.
The sentiment is stamped on a piece of Basic White and die cut with one of the frame dies from the Autumn Leaves dies. I also die cut a piece in Cherry Cobbler. I cut it in half horizontally and attached the two pieces to the back of the sentiment. Both of the bird and sentiment are popped up on Dimensionals to form the focal piece on the card front. I finished the card with the berries cut out from the DSP.
