Double Vision and Phrases & Frames

There are many cards using this technique on Pinterest and thought I’d join the party to try my hand at the technique. I like the sprinkling of silver in the Splash of Sparkles 12″ x 12″ Specialty Designer paper for the double vision layout and paired it up with Bubble Bath and Balmy Blue card stock. I used the new Phrases & Frames stamp bundle in the just released May-August Catalogue for the focal sentiment.

The “top note” frame is used to create a unique embossed look by using the new Impressions plate (although it’s called a plate, it is a silicone mat (page 74 in catalogue).

I used a piece of Silver Foil with the frame and after running it through the Cut ‘N Emboss machine, I poked out the centre piece of foil (save this piece for another project) and left the frame in the die. To create the embossed look of the frame, I used the following sandwich:

• Plate 1 (base)
• Plate 2
• Place die with the silver foil in it, face up on Plate 2
• Impressions Plate – new
• Plate 4 – the plate used when embossing 3D embossing folders

then run it through the embossing machine. It gives the die a unique embossed appearance.

I cut another of the frames using Basic White and stamped the sentiment on the centre piece of the die cut (keep the frame for another project). The sentiment is from the Phrases & Frames stamp set in Balmy Blue. The embellishments are from the retired Red & Green Adhesive backed pearls.
