Easter Basket Easel Card

It was fun making today’s Easter Basket Easel Card. An adorable set not only for Easter but some spring time cards as well.

The Designer Series Paper that is part of the Easter Basket bundle is Easter Joy and comes in a heavier weight which is perfect for making the basket.

The card base is Shy Shamrock. I embossed a Basic White panel with the Gathering Leaves embossing folder. The images were stamped with Memento Black ink, coloured in with Stampin’ Blends and die cut with the co-ordinating dies. There is also a die for the basket and strips to create the weave.

The third largest Everyday Arches die was used to cut the background for the focal image using the striped pattern from the DSP.

The strips of Lemon Lolly and Pretty in Pink were woven into the basket and topped with a scalloped Lemon Lolly piece. After assembling the bunny and eggs in the basket, the Pretty in Pink bow was added to the basket. The sentiment was stamped with Summer Splash classic ink and die cut with a label die from the Unbounded Love dies. The sentiment was stamped in two stages so that it could be separated.

On the inside of the card, the sentiment piece is propped up with Stampin’ Dimensionals so that the front can be propped up to create the easel. Two pink eggs from the Easter Assortment embellishments with added around the sentiment.

Cutting Instructions

• Shy Shamrock:
  • Card Base – 4 1/4″ x 11, score at 2 3/4″ and 4 1/2
  • Front Panel – 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″
  • Strip: 4 1/8″ x 5/8″
• Basic White:
  • Panels: 4 1/8″ x 5 3/8″ – cut two, one for the embossing and the other for inside
  • Basket: 3″ x 4″
  • Bunny and Eggs: scrap pieces
  • Sentiment: scrap piece
• Pretty in Pink:
  • Basket strips: 1 1/2″ x 3″ – this will provide more than required
  • Bow: scrap
• Lemon Lolly:
  • Scallop piece for basket: 1/2″ x 3
