Sunflowers are traditionally yellow and there have been some beautiful sunflowers in our local markets lately. The color is so vibrant. My card today is a departure from the traditional color and I love how it turned out.
I started with a piece of Old Olive card stock and cut it to 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4′. The DSP layer is from Merry Little Christmas and cut to 4″ x 5 1/4″. The image pieces are Old Olive cut 3″ x 3″, with the Whisper White cut 2 7/8″ x 2 7/8″.
I stamped the flower using Sweet Sugarplum, Fresh Fig and Soft Suede for the centre, and the leaves using Old Olive classic ink. The sentiment is Fresh Fig.
I wrapped three three strips of 1/8″ Sheer Fresh Fig ribbon wrapped over the DSP and secured at the back with adhesive. I then popped up the image piece with dimensionals over the front of the card.
