Santa’s Sleigh is a carry over stamp set from last year’s Holiday catalogue and I was so happy that it is available as I really didn’t get a chance to make too many cards with it last year but hope to do so this year.
We made this card at my Christmas in August class this past weekend using the set and I love how it turned out with the use of Tranquil Tide and the Delightful Daisy DSP.
We used the Basket Weave technique for the detailed side fold. The reindeer were cut using the Dazzling Diamonds glimmer paper. As I turned the glimmer paper face down on the cutting pad, they are facing left rather than to the left.
We inked up the wreath stamp with Versamark and then with Tranquil Tide and heat embossed with clear embossing powder. As long as you use your Versamark with the color you wish to have embossed, there is no need to purchase the colored embossing powder. The Versamark creates the stickiness to allow the embossing and simply use clear embossing powder to heat set. They were then cut out with the co-ordinating thinlits.
The trees and bows were all cut out with the co-ordinating framelits from the Santa Sleigh’s Thinlits Finally we created some snow on a strip of Whisper White card stock and used the Fine Tip Glue pen to add some adhesive and then sprinkled with Dazzling Diamonds.
Thanks for stopping by today and happy stamping!
