I used the Simply Zinnia stamp set for today’s easel card. It’s been a while that I made an easel card and it was a quick decision to use this fun fold with the Simply Zinnia stamp set.
I used Lemon Lime Twist for the card base with panels of Basic Black, Lemon Lolly and Basic White. I started with a piece of Lemon Lime Twist cut 4 1/4″ x 11″ and scored at 2 3/4″ and 5 1/2″. The panels are cut using the three largest dies from the Deckled Rectangle dies.
The focal image is stamped with Memento Black ink. Memento ink is best to use when adding color with Stampin’ Blends to prevent the colors from bleeding. I used Flirty Flamingo, Highland Heather, Lemon Lolly, Pumpkin Pie and Old Olive Stampin’ Blends to color in the image. After adhering the panels together I attached it to the lower portion of the card front, applying adhesive only to the bottom portion of the focal panel.
For the inside of the card I stamped a portion of the large floral image at the bottom right of the Basic White panel and colored it to co-ordinate with the colors used in the focal image on the card front.
The sentiment is stamped with Lemon Lime Twist ink on a strip of Basic White and then matted onto a piece of Basic Black. The sides were cut with the Decked Rectangle dies. I added Stampin’ Dimensionals to the back of the sentiment piece to prop it up so hold the front of the card to create the easel.
I added Wink of Stella to the focal image on the card front and the flower on the inside and it added a lot of sparkle – not sure if it shows up in the photo. I completed the card with some Adhesive Backed Shiny Sequins which are part of the Flowering Zinnias Suite Collection.
