Inlaid Embossing with Sweet Bugs

Way back in 2012 I used the inlaid embossing technique to make this baby card.

I made today’s card using the inlaid embossing technique with the adorable Sweet Bugs stamp bundle.

The card base is Cajun Craze with the other colours from the Sweet Bugs designer series papers incorporated in the card. I used Crushed Curry card stock to cut the largest die from the Textured Notes dies for the frame. Many of the images in the dsp can be die cut from the Sweet Bugs dies but I stamped the image so that I could do some colouring.

I cut out some circles using the 1 1/4″ and 1″ circle punches (retired) from Cajun Craze, Crushed Curry, Poppy Parade, Cloud Cover and Old Olive card stock. These are adhered to a Basic White 3 1/2″ x 4 7/8″ panel and then embossed with the Fern 3D embossing folder. This panel is then adhered to the die cut Crushed Curry panel and adhered to the card front.

I so enjoyed colouring the caterpillar image from the Sweet Bugs stamp set. I stamped the image on a scrap of Basic White using the Memento Black ink pad and coloured it with Darling Duckling and Mossy Meadow Stampin’ Blends. Next I cut the image with the corresponding die and popped it up on the focal panel with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The sentiment from the stamp set was stamped with Cajun Craze classic ink on a scrap of Basic Whie and then adhered to a Cajun Craze panel trimmed to fit the sentiment piece. The sentiment piece is popped onto the Cajun Craze with Stampin’ Dimensionals and then added to the card.
